Michael Pateras began his rugby career playing in Montreal, Canada. He played Second Row (Lock) for four years and was a member of two city championship teams each in 15's and 7's Rugby. He was invited to try out for the Quebec Provincial Select Side Team prior to moving to the USA. While attending Loyola University of Chicago, he formed the Loyola University Men’s Rugby Club. The Rugby club re-established years later and is still active in men’s, as well as women’s, collegiate play. Michael is also a certified 200 Level USA Rugby Coach and Referee.
Michael is a Certified Quality Manager, a Certified Software Quality Analyst and a Certified Corporate Safety Manager. He is currently employed as as a Quality Systems and Regulatory Affairs consultant at AbbVie, a pharmaceutical, nutritional, diagnostic, and medical products company, in North Chicago, IL.
Michael lives in Mount Prospect with his wife Janet. His sons Gregory, Brian and Christopher are ASRC alumni.
