The Stallions have no regulations restricting players from playing other sports, in or out of the competitive rugby season.  Reasonable consistency in practice attendance is expected and we have had a number of players that have successfully played rugby and another sport in the same season.

Our coaches, former players and their parents are nearly unanimous in the belief that there are multiple aspects of the rugby experience (teamwork, sportsmanship, conditioning, evasive running, ball-handling and open-field tackling) that have significant benefits for other team sports such as football, basketball and wrestling.

Unfortunately, not all mainstream, school sports coaches are as open minded about rugby as we would like them to be.  Some will actualy discourage their athletes from playing rugby in the Spring.  Please be aware that IHSA regulations prohibit requiring an athlete to do a certain activity as a condition of membership on a team that is not in season.
