On Wednesday, April 1, at Morton High School, the Arlington Stallions dropped their league opener in a close match to the Morton Mustangs, 14 - 10. The Stallions were unable to convert the significant possession and territorial advantage they held through most of the match into enough points to prevail over their longtime rival. Stallion tries were scored on a short powerful burst through three defenders by junior Spencer Krueger (Hersey HS) and an opportunistic tackle and steal by Jon Toruimi (Buffalo Grove HS), also a junior.

Head Coach Paul Bergman had this to say about Man-of-the-Match, inside center Toriumi, "Jon had a terrific day today by doing the dirty work of consistently tackling, ball-winning and turning defense into offense. That's true to the way our club likes to play and, despite today's end result, it bodes well for our future matches this season."

The Stallions take on the two-time State Champion Lake Forest Harriers this Saturday at Busse Woods Forest Preserve at 10:00 AM.
